"I started having pubic symphysis pain at 15 weeks pregnant and I was so worried it was going to just keep getting worse. I showed up to Lady Bird struggling to get in and out of bed and put on my own socks. My PT was Jessica and she taught modified ways to move so I could get out of bed and get dressed without pain, and after 5 visits I was back to my morning walks."

"I was 36 weeks pregnant when I learned pelvic floor PT was a thing that could help you prepare for birth. My OB, doula and massage therapist all recommended Lady Bird PT so I called them in a panic. They got me in the same week for a birth prep appointment with my PT. I had no idea how the pelvic floor can affect birth and even though I only had time for two sessions before birth it was so helpful!"

"I saw Rebecca for a few sessions during pregnancy and after delivery. She was SO helpful and played a pivotal role in my mental and physical preparation for an unmedicated birth. She has also been unbelievably helpful in my recovery, helping me to slowly ramp up physical activity so I can feel a bit more like myself pre-baby. I can't recommend Rebecca and the team at Lady Bird PT enough!"

Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you're experiencing pain, bladder leakage, or other symptoms, you can start PT at any point during pregnancy. If you're feeling well and want to optimize your pelvic health, we typically recommend coming in during your second trimester when your body starts changing. This allows us to discuss exercise modifications and prepare your body for birth and postpartum recovery. It's never too early—or too late—to get the support you need.
-
In Texas, physical therapists can evaluate and treat patients for 10-15 business days without a referral. After that, a referral from your healthcare provider is required. We're happy to coordinate with your OB or midwife to ensure seamless care throughout your pregnancy.
-
Your first visit is about 55 minutes long. Your physical therapist will discuss your pregnancy journey, any symptoms you're experiencing, and your goals. We'll perform a thorough assessment of your movement, posture, and pelvic floor function. Internal exams are never required—they're always optional and consent-based. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan to help you feel your best.
-
Lady Bird PT is an out-of-network clinic, which means we don't directly bill insurance. However, you can pay with an HSA or FSA card, and we provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many of our patients receive partial or full coverage—contact your insurance to learn about your specific out-of-network benefits for physical therapy.
