What do you find most rewarding about your work?

Helping patients go from feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or unsure of their bodies to feeling confident and empowered. I love those lightbulb moments when something finally clicks, but I especially love when patients realize they can get back to doing the things they love. Being a small part of that journey is pretty special.

What do you want patients to know about your approach to care?

I want patients to feel comfortable being themselves and talking about things they might not feel comfortable talking about anywhere else. There's no such thing as TMI! I hope people leave feeling heard, a little more confident, and like they have someone in their corner.

What's a completely useless but impressive skill you have?

I can do a pretty great pterodactyl impression. Is it useful? Absolutely not. Will I demonstrate it if given the opportunity? probably not, it's quite loud

What's one small thing that instantly makes your day better?

A really good coffee, a beautiful sunny day, or when someone remembers a little detail I mentioned in passing. I'm a big fan of the little things!

What made you want to work at Lady Bird PT?

Before moving to Austin, I started looking up clinics in the area and came across Lady Bird. As soon as I checked out the website and Instagram, I felt so aligned with the mission and could picture myself fitting in with the team. I could tell it was a place where I'd be supported and cared for while working hard to take care of our community, too! I love being part of a team where we can learn from each other while bringing our own strengths to the table.

“I've been seeing Dr. Sam Yorke for tailbone pain, and she's made a world of difference. She has helped me to understand the cause and solutions for treating it, has relieved the pain tremendously, and worked with me to begin strengthening my pelvic floor muscles to prevent it from continuing. Sam is patient, straightforward, so friendly, understanding, and professional.” -CC
