Hip Pain Physical Therapy FAQs

  • Our pelvic floor physical therapists assess the crucial connection between your hip, pelvis, core, and pelvic floor muscles. Many hip pain cases—especially in pregnant, postpartum, and female athletes—have underlying pelvic floor dysfunction, SI joint issues, or core weakness that traditional orthopedic PT misses. We use manual therapy, internal pelvic floor work when appropriate, and functional movement training to address the root cause, not just symptoms.

  • Absolutely! Hip and pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy is one of our specialties. We help manage pregnancy-related hip pain with safe exercises, manual therapy, and movement modifications. Postpartum, we address lingering hip weakness, pain with walking or exercise, and help you safely return to running and strength training. We offer in-clinic visits, virtual appointments, and in-home visits for the first 0-6 weeks postpartum.

  • Your initial evaluation is 55 minutes with one of our expert PTs. We'll discuss your hip pain history, goals, and any pregnancy or postpartum factors. Your PT will assess your movement, strength, hip and pelvic alignment, and may perform a pelvic floor assessment if relevant to your condition. You'll leave with a clear diagnosis, personalized treatment plan, and exercises to start immediately. Most patients see us weekly initially, then reduce frequency as they improve.
